Natali Del Conte: I’ve Been In This Apartment For Over A Week. Do You Like What I’ve Done With The Place?

at least the wine is in a bottle and not a box. ;-)

    Natali,
I am really sorry to hear that you are being mistreated by this company. You may want to consider reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I would even go as far as say that you have right to check into a hotel paid for by the moving company. However, I would push for something in writing from the company if you tried to do that.

I hope you get your possessions back. In many ways, you have been robbed of everything you own. I hope this stick up ends soon!

Is there a store near your apartment where you can buy paper plates, cups and cutlery?

I'ts a shame you have to deal with liberal companies.you should save some on the wine, for a shower later. :) Robert

Anjuan is right, you are effectively being held hostage in your own home. In any other home, it would be an arrestable offence.

Natali, if you can afford to risk the money, then I think you should use a hotel at least some of the time, you would likely get the money back because it is within reason to expect a promise of life-affecting delivery to be fulfilled on time. Just keep all receipts and only purchase essentials from the hotel.

I hope it gets sorted soon.

Hang in there girl, I know its tough, hopefully Thursday will finally be the day, make sure you post a new picture for us when you have stuff in place. Get some rest, watch crazy youtube clips on your Iphone, call mommy and daddy and tell them how much you love them.

    - See ya

Mama, sorry to hear about your continued moving troubles. I just hope this isn't spoiling your impressions of living here in the greatest city in the world. After you get your stuff, I say treat yourself to a massage at the Red Door Salon in Manhattan.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles.

And it's not because you are a woman, or on the opposite side of the country from your stuff.

ALL moving companies are like that. :(

Once it took 2+ weeks to get my stuff shipped to me--and that was only a 400mile move.

Take it easy: and don't let this episode color your experience in the new, big, wonderful city.

my in-laws had a similar experience when moving from Richmond Virginia to Columbus. they were stuck too because they were paying for two residences at the time of their move, and couldn't afford to take the legal action that they really were entitled to at the time.

Sorry for the lack of material goods. I remember my first night in my first condo. I wanted to sleep there the very day I closed on it. It was just me, a sleeping bag, and my Glock 9mm. Ha!

Oh, your place looks great. Nice floors and clean walls. Hope you're enjoying New York!

    Natali,
Being that we're both from the bay area, Im sure you know that when we were in high school you had classmates that setup their own hassel-free moving just to make some extra money. Sure its not entirely professional, but results were instant. Probably alot better than the company you hired.
I know its a risky stretch, but if you decide to move again, take that suggestion and ask high school kids that have that sort of business.

Hold your breath that your belongings are intact and nothing is missing. Shady on delivery time can also mean shady workers.

Do you have a friend you could stay with for a couple days? I know hotels are $$ in NY, but you can keep the receipts and bill the movers for your stay.

    Sounds pretty harsh.

I hope they do come through for you today.

Moving companies have never been highly regarded on my list of professions but with this story they may fall right below lawyers!
  • slayerboy · 1 year ago
This is why I hate moving. Not only packing, but if you count on someone else to move your stuff you're at their mercy!

I hate to do this, and I hope everything works out in the end, but something just doesn't seem right. I think you should call your lawyer. My gut tells me you might never get your stuff. My heart hopes you'll get all your stuff in one piece and are troubled no more with this insane problem.

    Good luck!

It's unbelievable people can care so little about leaving someone stranded like this. I say - **** 'em... up the errrr.. you know what ;-) No wait. That's way more than they deserve.

Anyway, really hope you get all your stuff delivered soon now.

Doesn't sound all bad though - cookies and wine. Mmmmmmmm....
